One of the objectives of this group is to preserve the cultural heritage of Dartmoor.  The Dartmoor Society has developed it’s thinking on this over 25 years and we remain convinced that the Dartmoor landscape is as important for its cultural heritage as it is for it’s ecology and wildlife and these two aspects of land management are inextricably linked.

This article by former Dartmoor Society Chair Tom Greeves was published in the Western Morning News on 5 November. In it Tom argues that current protective land designations are inadequate given Dartmoor’s ecocultural global significance.
